What services do Mayfair Plumbing offer?

When it comes to plumbing services there isn’t much we cannot attend to.  Over the 25 years of being a Master Plumber our skill set has grown to now offer specifically tailored solutions for all aspects of plumbing.

Plumbing services such as CCTV drain camera inspections of sewer and storm water drain lines.  Both small drain pipes and large drains we can inspect with either of our Ridgid drain camera systems.  Locating services of underground waste and drain pipes.  Recording of the condition of the drains with full colour screen monitors. Hydro jet drain cleaning of kitchen sinks, hand basins and showers.

Backflow Valve Testing Of Reduced Pressure Zone Devices And Double Check Valve Assemblies

Our extensive knowledge of hot water is second to none and we can often perform same day hot water system change overs and repairs.  If the matter is urgent, we can install a temporary 50 litre electric mains pressure unit to get you through the weekend?  Although there is still a lot of chatter about phasing out electric hot water, we are still proceeding with like for like swap overs.  So, if the customer has a gas hot water service we are still advising to keep with this type of system.

Water filtration and pump servicing.  Many properties in the council area of Mitcham will have either a rain water pump, sump pump or even a bore pump.  Off these can be a filter setup which should be regularly serviced and as should the pump.  The advantage of using a bore pump for irrigating is of course the lower cost on your SA Water utilities each quarter.  Storm water sump pumps play a vital role in the removal of storm water during a rain storm and protect the property from flooding, so it is ideal to ensue these are always working to their optimum performance!

Emergency Plumbing To The Residents Of Lower Mitcham!

Mayfair Plumbing offer a 24-hour emergency service for anything that requires an emergency call out.  It’s quite often we will get called out for a burst flexible hose under a basin or kitchen sink.  Someone has hit the water main while doing a spot of gardening.  Or the main sewer pipe has clogged.

Why Choose A Local Plumber?

Being local has huge advantages!  Firstly, you are likely to get the same plumber you had last time.  A local plumber will know the layout of the SA Water drainage infrastructure in the area.  Locally owned and operated plumbers will be able to attend faster as they are always in the area.  Understanding the location of water meters and gas meters is key to isolating a plumbing emergency quickly and that’s what we do every time.  Word of mouth is very powerful so finding a plumber in the area that others have used and were happy with is very reassuring.  It’s the Mayfair Plumbing difference

A Mix Of New And Old In Lower Mitcham

Block sizes in Lower Mitcham and Kingswood are typically around 800sqm to 1000sqm and can easily accommodate two to three 2houses where one was originally built.  Sub dividing is common practise in this location along with-its next-door neighbour Daw Park and Clapham.  But some of the residents just off Wattlebury Road and Price Avenue have opted to keep their old blue stone homes and have them restored, which is fantastic to embrace the history of the area.

Although many of the homes in Lower Mitcham and Clapham are very close the interstate rail way freight line it doesn’t seem to deter potential buyers entering the area.  Entering from Belair Road can be often challenging as the rail way crossing will be shut which causes a huge back log of traffic often down to Mitcham Square shopping centre and KFC off Grange Road.

Adapting New Products With Older Pipes And Fittings

When working as a Master Plumber in the older suburbs of Adelaide you will often come across an old piece of copper or PVC pipe which has badly corroded and cannot be easily joined back onto.  Although not used as commonly the oxy and acetylene kit will bring old copper back into shape and allow it to be joined onto using the silver solder brazing methods.  Old PVC pipe will need cleaning with emery cloth and acetone to remove dags etc on the outside of the pipes and allow a new fitting to be glued onto it.

Old, galvanised water mains are quickly becoming obsolete but there are still a handful getting around and you will see them being replaced with either PVC or copper mains.  Adapting to old galv metal pipe is near on impossible and that is why so many houses have upgraded to copper and plastic materials.
