We recently began a new renovation project for new dog grooming salon in AdelaideMavericks Dog Grooming.

This process was essentially a new shop fit out at 7/550 Greenhill Rd, Hazelwood Park, SA, 5066

Where Is Mavericks Dog Grooming

This new commercial fit-out was an empty shell when we were initially engaged.

The brief was very specific in that the time frame was tight and everything had to be done in time for the new dog grooming salon to open.

New Natural Gas Connection

We had to apply for a new natural gas connection to be put into the shop so that thenew dog grooming salon could use continuous flow hot water and not run out of hot water. Fortunately given there are already other businesses using natural gas onsite the connection process was going to be less involved.

Once the application was successful Australian Gas Networks loaned the business a temporary 50L Rheem 2.4kw plug-in electrical hot water service until the gas component was completed. This was great news for the new business as they could start trading even without gas.

Plumbing In A Clothes Washer

Although most of the drying of the dogs is done with air dryers, some towels do occasionally get used. This meant that a new front-loading clothes washer had to be plumbed in. We had to get a cold-water feed inside the shop and a 50mm drain pipe.

Outside was already a redundant 50mm line coming off a 100mm gully. We were able to extend this 50mm PVC into the shop and plumb up the Bosch washing machines line into this. It is common to find useful pieces of infrastructure still in play when another tenant moves out and a new one in.

One of the most important aspects of the salon is to get hot and cold water for the new dog-washing bath. Because the bath is on an electronic hydraulic lifter, we used hard-drawn copper tubing to get within 500mm of the bath and then join onto the bath 15mm MI threads with 1000mm long water-flex stainless steel braided hoses. This allows for the bath to move up and down and not break the water hoses.

Hot Water System

Another neat little touch we installed is a Rinnai digital temperature controller along with a Rinnai B20 natural gas hot water service at 60 degrees. The temperature controller allows the dog washers to wash the dogs at low temperatures which uses less gas and then allows them to turn up the temperature at night when they are cleaning the dog grooming salon.

Although plumbing does play a key role in a dog grooming salon so do electricity, air conditioning and building works. Mavericks dog grooming is in a rather affluent area of Adelaide in the eastern suburbs. Our customers expected high-end workmanship and that’s what we provided. Mayfair Plumbing and Gasfitting have a reputation across Adelaide for delivering first-class
